Volume 15: Talking Record Stores and Emo with Drew Sweet

Two Strange Grooves in one week? Hell yeah. We were so excited about this episode, we had to get it up right away.

We were honoured to visit Drew Sweet, a local musician and manager of Sunrise Records here in Saint John, New Brunswick.

We chat with Drew about how he ended up becoming a manager of a record store and how it has changed the way he discovers and appreciates new music.

We also dig into Drew’s personal collection, which includes emo classics like Panic! At the DiscoCaP’n Jazz; Into It. Over It; American Football; Death Cab for Cutie; and Alexisonfire and many more. We also talk about the time he got to see American Football live in Halifax and the experience of getting to finally see bands you truly love.
