Volume 117: Sad Songs & A Mukbang

Welcome back, Strange Crew!

This week our pal, Abigail Smith, returns to the show to chat about Saint John Rock Camp!

The week-long free camp for girls, trans, and gender creative youth has campers undergo an intense (but super fun) boot camp where they form a rock group, learn to play instruments, write songs, design merch and more! The camp concludes with a showcase at Saint John’s iconic Imperial Theatre.

We chat with Smith about how the camp started and how it’s a community effort among the city’s arts and music community. We also dive into the experience’s deep impact on both the campers and the instructors. The kids are alright!

We also talk about camp snacks.

Abby also teases a big project she has in the works (ouuuu!)

Of course, there are more Dunkaroos!

That and so much more on this episode of Strange Grooves!

Until next week, Keep It Strange!
